About Mayhew German Shepherds

I'm Denise Mayhew, of Mayhew German Shepherds, in Beaverdam, VA. I breed German Shepherds out of passion for the breed, focusing on a healthy, nurturing environment that helps each puppy reach its full potential and become a loving, well-balanced family companion.

Mayhew German Shepherds is a responsible breeder dedicated to raising healthy, well-socialized German Shepherd puppies with excellent temperament. All parent dogs undergo comprehensive genetic testing and hip and elbow evaluations, and each puppy comes with a health guarantee to ensure peace of mind and a lifelong match with a loving family.

Our puppy training includes:

• Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) to provide our healthy puppies with essential developmental support.
• Early Scent Introduction (ESI) is a crucial practice for a German Shepherd breeder, as it introduces healthy puppies to new scents in a controlled environment. 
• Crate training from week 6 until they go home
• House training including household sounds, potty training, and basic commands

Puppy health practices include: 

• Vet check
• First round of shots and deworming
• Microchip
• Vet records

We currently have healthy puppies available for you to choose from. Check out our available puppies and find your new best friend!  

The price includes puppy training, AKC registration, microchipping, vaccinations, deworming, and a puppy starter kit. A nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve a puppy.

As a dedicated German Shepherd breeder, we stand behind our puppies and guarantee their health for up to two years. We also provide a lifetime of support to our puppy owners, offering advice on training, nutrition, and addressing any other questions you may have about raising your healthy puppies. 

Each puppy will take home: 

- AKC registration 

- Blanket with mom and littermates’ scent 

- Toys 

- Food and treats
